After 30 years of personally and professionally exploring a wide variety of healing arts modalities, I have reached a place where I have seen healing happen and not happen. So what are the key elements that I have witnessed that allow for the greatest recovery, healing and transformation happen?
- A space is offered that provides a sense of nurturing and safety. Such a place includes the elements of confidentiality, deep listening, compassion and gentle inquiry.
- Skillfulness and experience. These speak for themselves.
- Patient/Client self-responsibility. The expectation that someone else will fix you rarely has sustaining results. A healing relationship with a health care provider must be a two-way collaborative effort in order to obtain the greatest results.
- A Meta Approach. This can be described the idea that many factors can lead to dis-ease above and beyond physical stressors and injuries. By exploring and finding understanding into the underlying emotional/psychological factors that are often involved, whether it be the stress/fears/anxieties of home, work, finances etc. more efficacious results are often achieved.
Your healing journey may look very different than someone else who has the same complaints or symptoms as you do. But if you are ready to take the next step, it would be an honor to work together.
