Julie first learned about the benefits of EFT tapping from her Naturopathic Doctor 13 years ago. Desperate to understand how to help her 2 and 5 year olds (and herself!) through some extremely challenging days, Julie found peace for her family! Still tapping after all these years, she is delighted to offer this simple yet incredibly effective tool that no parent should be without! Family Balance is just a Tap Away! The Inspired Heart: An Artist's Journey of Transformation
with Jerry Wennstrom and Marilyn Strong
In 1979 at the height of a successful career, artist Jerry Wennstrom had a spiritual epiphany that mandated he surrender all attachments and destroy his life's work of paintings and sculptures. "It was the letting go of everything I thought was most me. It felt like a leap into a most sublime and formless creative expression," he said. He walked out of his Nyack, New York, loft, and for the next 10 years lived with nothing, wandering, seeking, listening and trusting.

As experienced speakers and workshop leaders, Jerry and his wife, singer and ceremonialist Marilyn Strong, put on a unique and participatory multimedia/musical event that opens people to thinking about themselves, their lives and their spirituality in a uniquely different way. Hearing Jerry's story often helps others engage the transpersonal and universal aspects of surrender and metaphorical death that are inherent in their own journeys. As part of the presentation, they will show a documentary film that was made about Jerry and his art called "In the Hands of Alchemy," distributed by Sentient Publications and Parabola.

Jerry Wennstrom is the author of The Inspired Heart: An Artist’s Journey of Transformation. The meditation tower that he built on their Whidbey Island property, along with his life's story is featured in the book, Holy Personal by Laura Chester. Jerry now has a large, new body of art, travels nationally teaching, lecturing, and presenting his art and the films that were made about his life. He continues to do his art, has published and/or done over 50 articles and media interviews and contributes to a N.Y. consulting firm called Inferential Focus. For more information or to see his interactive sculptures, please visit his web site at www.handsofalchemy.com.

Marilyn Strong holds a BA in Religion and Adult Education and an MA in Spirituality and Culture. She has been a skilled creator and facilitator of adult spirituality programs and workshops for twenty-six years. She has twelve years experience as a pregnancy counselor and adoption social worker, is an interfaith minister and a respected ceremonialist and singer. For the past eleven years Marilyn has worked closely with clients to create customized sacred ritual and ceremony to fit their personal needs, such as weddings, memorial services or rites of passage ceremonies. As a certified Death Midwife she also provides advance planning seminars, coaching and education about natural death care, and services to families as a home funeral guide.

Living with Integrity: Reconnecting Soul and Role with Jeanne Strong
In our busy lives and in these trying, uncertain times, it is easy to lose touch with what really matters. We often forget who we are at our very core, and the opportunities to embrace our 'Hidden Wholeness' tend to be few. For many of us in the 'helping professions' the last thing we devote time to is the rekindling of our energies and passions, reconnecting who we are with what we do. In the words of Parker Palmer, educator, prolific writer and senior advisor to the Center for Courage and Renewal:

"Self care is never a selfish act - it is simply good stewardship of the only gift I have, the gift I was put on earth to offer others. Anytime we can listen to true self, and give it the care it requires, we do so not only for ourselves, but for the many others whose lives we touch."

Jeanne will engage in dialogue about reconnecting who we are with what we do, embracing what makes us 'come alive', and share the work of the Washington Center for Courage and Renewal.

Jeanne Strong, Ph.D. is a life-long educator, who recently retired from an administrative position in a Seattle elementary school. Her work as a facilitator for WA Courage & Renewal brings together many aspects of her personal and professional commitment to nurturing and supporting the lives of those who work with children, their families and their communities. Donations will benefit Seeds for Hope (a local Whidbey Island non-profit for work with children in Uganda.)

"The more passionate we are about our work, the more vital it is that we take time to renew our own spirits. Sustaining a life of commitment requires that at times we slow down and reconnect with the sources of energy that fuel our fires. Living with integrity is an act of faith in ourselves and our vision for a better future, essential to being the change we want to see in the world."--Parker J Palmer

How Do You Live Your Own Poem? The path of the Poet with Judith Adams
The path of the poet is the same as your life or mine. How do you live your own poem? We choose a love and apprentice ourselves to that love. There is no short cut, despite the dialogue that goes on 'for and against'. One day you realize you can't live without it, and you know you will show up because it is your own great affair. As Mary Oliver says, "If Romeo and Juliet had made appointments to meet in the moonlight-swept orchard in all the peril and sweetness of conspiracy, and then more often than not failed to meet - one or the other lagging or afraid or busy elsewhere, there would have been no romance, no passion, none of the drama for which we remember and celebrate them. Writing a poem not so different."...

To be a cook, gardener, carpenter, artist, parent, husband, lover, you can't just scribble you have to commit and weather the mundane. Being a poet is not that you are called to respond to inspiration, rather, that you are willing to explore with the heart in realm of words, each influenced in the wake of the other, that at times shock or makes the hairs on the back of your neck standup, but always inching close enough to tell the story.

Listen to the presences inside poems
let them take you where they will

Follow those private hints
and never leave the premises.
--Rumi
